Stained Glass Quilt Workshops

Class Kits are highly recommended for stained glass workshops.  Everyone will arrive with the correct items in their bag.  I can provide kits when adequate time is allowed.  Please make kit arrangements eight weeks prior to travel.

 Half  Day Workshop

Stained Glass Love Letters

This new pattern is a quick and easy little introduction to stained glass.

One Day Workshop

Buds and Beauties

Create a wall hanging that looks like a stained glass window.  Brenda's updated approach to stained glass using fusible woven interfacing, basting glue, Clover Quick Bias - fusible bias tape, and the sewing machine are taught.  Large colorful pieces make these designs great class projects.  This is a very busy 6 hour class period.  Most students will not actually sew in class.

Patterns BPP 040 - BPP 047 are used for this class.
Purchase of a pattern is required for participation in class.

One Day Workshop

Stained Glass Poinsettia Table Runner

This class is in high demand!  The table runner is a terrific introduction to Quilt-As-You-Go Stained Glass.  Rotary cut squares are applied to fusible interfacing to create the body of the table runner.  Freezer paper templates are used to cut the poinsettia pieces.  The poinsettia fabrics are adhered to the background block using Roxanne Glue-Baste-It.    This is a very busy 6 hour class period.  Most students will not actually sew in class.

Table runner pattern is found in book BPP 250 Christmas Traditions in Stained Glass.  Purchase of the book is required for participation in class.

One Day Workshop

Baltimore Album Stained Glass

Album appliqué without turned edges!  Does it get any better than that?  The 20” block design starts with a 25 patch pieced background.  The design fabrics are adhered to the background block using Roxanne Glue-Baste-It.  Spray stabilizer is applied to the fabric before stitching.  The simple piecing to complete the quilt is discussed but not worked on in class.

Baltimore album block patterns are found in books BPP 350 Beyond Baltimore and BPP 390 Romancing Baltimore.  Purchase of a book is required for participation in class.

Triangulations Workshops

One Day  Workshop

Flannel Star

The combination of two well loved blocks - the ribbon star and a delectable mountain make this a very dynamic choice.  The triangles are constructed using Half Square Triangulations.

One Day Workshop

Beacon Hill

Elegant stars surrounded by a flowing border make this a lovely addition to any room. The triangles are created using my new Triangulations disc that allows you to print quarter square triangle paper from your own computer.

One Day Workshop

Fireworks

This is a colorwash quilt with an attitude.  Quarter square triangles are mixed in with plain squares to create an explosion of color—like fireworks!  Choose a soft graduation of color, or extreme transition for a remarkable burst.

Pieced Quilt Workshops

One Day Workshop

Mariner's Compass

A traditional pattern with a terrific secondary star pattern.  This is a great class A single block is constructed in class.  Success is a given when paper piecing this challenging block.

Mariner's Compass pattern can be found in book
BPP 360 Sharp Pointies.

One Day Workshop

Scrap Hunter

This quilt looks complicated until broken down into single blocks.  The student will learn how to cut diamonds and trapezoids using only their rotary cutter and ruler.  Brenda will also introduce her own method to ensure accurate piecing of the trapezoid and diamond unit. a.k.a. Hunter Star.

Scrap Hunter pattern can be found in book

One Day Workshop

Trip to the Altar

Simple nine-patch block construction makes this quilt one that most everyone can enjoy.  The units are large and the completed design is deceptively “complex”.

Trip to the Altar pattern can be found in book
BPP 380 Out of the Blue.

The workshops available are based on designs found in my books and patterns. If you are interested in one of my designs
that is not shown, but found elsewhere in my website, I'm sure a workshop can be created around that as well.

Purchase of a book or pattern is required for all stained glass workshops due to the large size of the patterns.

Purchase of the Triangulations™ 2.0 disc is required for the Triangulations™ 2.0 workshops.
